Currently i’m reading a book, titled: The Stand – By Stephen King.
it’s not a bad read, really. it’s kinda messed up that i’m reading this book AFTER covid-19 happened, etc, but … in an odd and strange way, this is a dark fantasy playing out in this book. or rather, something of a deeper insight into what happened during covid 19, in a pseudo kind of way.
i mean: this book was written way back in 1978. it’s about a virus created by the government. and because of containment failure, the virus gets out into the populace, and kills literally half or more (all of it?) of the populace of the planet earth. all over the course of one month.
first, it causes coughing, affecting the lungs, moves on to phlem (yuck) and then further just simply causes delusions, and finally, chokes you to death.
familiar, eh?
well, i read the first book (i bought the extended version from the kobo store.) and so far… so good?
like i said, it’s an interesting read. go ahead and read it, if you weren’t a victim of covid 19 in any which way, but…. it might prove to be a difficult read for some – those sensitive and took the virus that hit us over the course of 2019-2022 and killed 7 million (!!!!) people.
sigh. i kinda picked up this book not knowing what it was about, at first, and then figured it was a book about a virus. and it feels…. prophetic? no… predictive? maybe of the virus that DID hit us. again, called: covid 19.
anyway, it’s a good read. check it out. and don’t be faint of heart after our real-life virus literally decimated a lot of our populace when you read this.
