This is an amazing book written by the author of the Martian, Andy Weir. It’s a decent read. I really enjoyed the scientific explanations and the use of science in this book.

This book takes place somewhat in the future where the earth is in danger because of an anomaly that seems to be threatening the entire region of…. No, not america, or greenland, etc, but from TAU CETI, our distant neighbor in this little section of the galaxy, all the way to SOL, our solar system.

A teacher, Ryland Grace, sets out to uncover the mystery of this anomaly, and, possibly, fix it. This novel slowly turns into a pretty exciting adventure, from meeting aliens, or rather, an alien, to wild and far-out experiments, all in a bid to save civilization of our earth.

Funny enough, this novel was also adapted into a live action movie, which I’m sure people are aware of, that came out just a little while ago. It’s a movie I haven’t seen yet, but definitely on my list of movies to watch – having read the novel and everything. ( I love reading novels first, then moving on to the movie if possible. Sometimes, when it’s the other way around, the movie gives a novel more visual context and I thoroughly enjoy that.)

back to the novel, this is a very enjoyable read, and you pretty much get engrossed within the turmoil of this world, earth, and whatever lies above in the high heavens, and the struggle to fixing things.

There’s a lot of factors I want to talk about concerning this novel. But at the risk of spoilers and people boo-ing me, I think I should lay off and not write anything sensitive.

All in all, this book scores a 4.9 out of 5 on my behalf. Make this your next book/novel that you read, and I guarantee it won’t disappoint. Be warned, some of the sciences ryland grace talks about need to be understood, so keep your thinking hat ready on the side. This book is a wild ride.
One thing I definitely have to say about this book: amaze amaze amaze!

Enjoy!
